In 1976 the Chevrolet Monza was an aggressive underdog in the battle for the hotly contended IMSA Sportscar Championship trophy. The unforgettable Al Holbert, later a 3-time winner in LeMans, left a vastly superior field in his wake and stormed to victory in the championship. He repeated this success the following year. Al Holbert and his Chevrolet Monza wrote history in those years.
